Zoo Atlanta Wants To 4th of July With You

Red, White and Blue at the Zoo Atlanta!

By Zoo Atlanta June 30, 2017

Zoo Atlanta has plenty of 4th of July fun for you and yours. Celebrate Red, White and Blue at the Zoo Atlanta! Members of the Armed Forces enjoy admission discounts, and families can start a new tradition for pre-fireworks fun on July 4th.

On Tuesday, July 4, all active-duty, reserve, veteran and retired members of the U.S. Armed Forces enjoy free admission and $4 off general admission for up to six accompanying guests with a valid military ID. Stop by to visit Sequoyah, the Zoo’s resident bald eagle. Named the national bird of the United States in 1782, the bald eagle is one of American history’s greatest conservation success stories. Driven to the brink of extinction in the 20th century, the species was removed from the Endangered Species List in 2007, although it remains federally protected by the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and state laws.

Other Independence Day favorites will include Splash Fountain presented by Atlanta Fulton County Recreation Authority, a water play area featuring 18 jets on a 2,500 square-foot section of the KIDZone. Make a check-mark on this summer’s bucket list with a trek on the all-new Treetop Trail presented by Kaiser Permanente, an aerial playground culminating in the SkyRail zipline.

Always a popular summer destination, the climate-controlled Scaly Slimy Spectacular: The Amphibian and Reptile Experience is home to many American beauties, including Rosalynn, Savannah, Talisa and Tallulah the American alligators.

The Independence Day military discount is valid only on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, and may not be combined with any other offer or promotion. The offer is valid only at Zoo Atlanta Admissions; not valid online. Visit zooatlanta.org to plan your day.
