The Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System recently conducted their annual Library User Survey to gain input and feedback on current library programs, customer service satisfaction, communications tools and more.  With a record-breaking 16,000 responses, we are pleased to share results with the public.

As with every survey, demographic information continues to be a key component to directing our services to the people who need them most, as well as learning where our library users live, how much they visit a brick and mortar library versus how often they are using our Digital Library resources.  Take a look at what else we learned from the survey.

  • Library users continue to be majority female (60%), but men are quickly catching up to bridge that gap.  Last year, that number was 72%!

  • Library users are educated people who know the value of their public library. More than 55% of those surveyed hold a college degree.

  • Most importantly, you like us, you really like us!  87% of survey respondents are satisfied/very satisfied with our services!  While we continue to push to make that number 100%, you keep coming back and telling us how we’re doing and how we can do a better job to serve the public.

The library system strives to provide an excellent customer service experience for all its users,” said Dr. Gabriel Morley, Library Director. “The results of this survey, including the 87 percent satisfaction rate, indicate we are meeting that goal.  As the library works to improve its facilities, we also want to enhance our user experience. We’re encouraged by these positive results and are continually seeking new ways to partner with our users.”
