Summerfest is back for 2023, and to kick off the festivities join us on Friday, June 9th from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm for our Friday Night Kick-Off!
Join us for live music from the Unmentionables and Backyard Birds – two bands from Virginia-Highland. Enjoy free drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) courtesy of Coca-Cola and Post Meriden and delicious food from three local food trucks.
Stop by Haygood Church’s Happy Camper, which will be providing free treats to all and yard games for the kids!
Bring your own chairs, towels, friends, and family!

*Please note that the previously free community dinner is now a ticketed event. We had to make this difficult decision due to the loss of revenue during COVID. We are not sure whether this will be a temporary or a permanent change. The money being raised will go back into other community efforts for our neighborhood. We hope everyone will come out and support this great cause! All sales are final. This is a rain/shine event.
Then on Saturday engage and enjoy a variety of activities. First up is the annual Summer Fest 5K Run at 8 am. One area of Summer Fest we love the most is the Tot Trot 2023 and Kidsfest.
Tot Trot
Yes, they are bringing back the Tot Trot for runners 10 and under! Cheer on your kids, the neighbor's kid, and all the kids as they get a taste of the racing bug and dash across their own finish line. Pre-registration is required and spots are limited for everyone’s safety. All participants get their own race t-shirt to show off their accomplishment. Race is at 9:45 in John Howell Park between the main stage and Barnett St.
Kidsfest
Kidsfest is located in the western section of John Howell Park (in the area where the sand volleyball courts are) and on the adjacent Arcadia Street. Kidsfest features unique games, crafts, and activities for children of all ages, many of which are free.
